Our Commitment

At Hayton Posey, sustainability is fundamental to how we work. It is not a campaign or a trend, but a long-term responsibility that shapes every decision we make. We believe meaningful success is built on integrity, transparency, and respect for both people and the natural world.

Our approach is holistic and considered. We focus on reducing our environmental footprint while supporting the wellbeing of everyone connected to our work from growers and suppliers to clients and collaborators. Sustainability is embedded into every stage of our operations, from sourcing through to installation and disposal, and continues to evolve as we refine our practices.

We are committed to advancing more responsible standards within the floristry industry. By working with trusted partners and setting clear expectations, we aim to create lasting positive change rather than short-term solutions. All partners working with Hayton Posey are required to align with our Code of Conduct and share our commitment to ethical and environmentally responsible practice.

Responsibility, Thoughtfully Delivered

Creating Impact Without Excess

Floristry is a craft rooted in beauty, yet it has traditionally relied on processes and materials that generate unnecessary waste particularly plastics. From packaging to logistics, single-use components have long been accepted as standard. We believe they shouldn’t be.

From the outset, Hayton Posey set out to reduce waste at its source. We work intentionally and efficiently, using only what is needed and making the most of every flower. For every project, our goal is to keep our work clean, controlled, and environmentally considered without compromise on quality, scale, or creativity.

Clarity and transparency are central to our approach. Sustainability language can be complex and misleading, so we are open about how our flowers are sourced, handled, and disposed of, allowing clients and partners to make informed, confident decisions.

Our Approach in Practice

Responsible Sourcing

We work with a carefully curated network of UK and international growers, selected for both exceptional quality and responsible cultivation. Our suppliers operate within recognised regulatory frameworks, including the highly regulated Dutch floriculture sector, where flowers
are sourced from MPS-certified growers adhering to strict standards for water efficiency, integrated pest management, and modern greenhouse technologies.

Flowers are cut to order wherever possible, ensuring maximum freshness, extended vase life, and minimal waste.

Circular Logistics & Efficient Handling

To minimise unnecessary packaging, we utilise a circular logistics system wherever possible. Flowers are delivered in reusable auction buckets rather than single-use cardboard, significantly reducing waste before materials even reach our studio or event sites. This approach is particularly vital for large-scale installations, where efficiency and control are essential.

Studio & On-Site Waste Management

Sustainability extends beyond sourcing and delivery. In our studio and on-site at events  including large-scale productions and installations waste is meticulously managed.

Green waste is carefully separated and disposed of responsibly, while all paper and cardboard packaging is directed into local recycling streams. Our teams are trained to work with precision, ensuring materials are used thoughtfully and excess is avoided at every stage of production.

Plastic-Free & Considered Materials

All Hayton Posey packaging and presentation materials are plastic-free wherever possible. We prioritise biodegradable, recyclable, and compostable components that break down naturally without leaving harmful residues.

Natural twines, ribbons, and structural elements are selected for both durability and reusability, supporting refined aesthetics while reducing environmental impact. Printed materials are produced using FSC-certified papers with recycled content and vegetable- or soy-based inks.

Large-Scale Events & Installations

Delivering large-scale floral events requires not only creative vision but disciplined operational control. At Hayton Posey, sustainability is fully integrated into how we plan, build, and de-rig complex installations.

From concept to completion, we carefully assess quantities, mechanics, transport, and timelines to minimise waste and maximise efficiency. Flowers are handled through reusable systems, materials are selected for environmental performance as well as structural integrity, and all on-site processes are designed to leave venues clean, undamaged, and respectfully restored.

During de-installation, floral materials are managed responsibly, with organic matter separated for appropriate disposal and recyclable materials returned to local waste streams. Our aim is always to leave a lasting visual impression not a physical footprint.
